A partner with the firm since 1987, Bill now focuses his practice on civil litigation, with emphasis on probate and fiduciary litigation, will contests and marital property division. Bill carries a Martindale-Hubbell® peer-review rating of AV® PreeminentTM and has been peer selected for inclusion among Virginia Business magazine's Legal Elite in the area of civil litigation. Bill was a Lawn resident at the University of Virginia, the president and social chairman of his fraternity, a distinguished military graduate, and a member of the PK German Society. After completing military service, he practiced in the Federal and State courts of Northern Virginia for several years before moving to Middlesex County in 1979 to become a traditional country lawyer. With substantial experience in not only civil trial work, but also real estate transactions, wills and estate planning, appellate practice, criminal trials, corporate and business law and divorce and family law, Bill brings to the firm's clients and their problems seasoned judgment and a versatile perspective. He and his wife, Blair, enjoy sailing. They have three charming daughters.
